Mr. David Akre serves as Principal at Whole Loan Capital. Mr. Akre is a distinguished figure in the mortgage industry, known for his pivotal role as the architect, co-founder, and Co-CEO of the NASDAQ-listed New York Mortgage Trust ("NYMT"). Demonstrating keen foresight, he ceased NYMT's securitization program in Q1 2006, anticipating the looming credit concerns. His leadership was instrumental in navigating NYMT through the tumultuous Global Financial Crisis (GFC), maintaining close collaboration with liquidity and financing partners. Throughout his career, David Akre has overseen the purchase and sale of over $20 billion in residential loans.
